Cruse Bereavement Care is a national charity formed in 1959 and has a network of Areas and Branches across England, Wales and Northern Ireland providing a free, confidential service of bereavement support to adults and children who are struggling with their grief following death, whenever this occurred.
Hull and District Branch of Cruse was formed in 1987 providing a free, confidential service of bereavement support provided by Cruse trained bereavement support volunteers to adults and children who are struggling with their grief following death, whenever this occurred. A bereaved person should refer themselves to Cruse by telephoning 01482 565565 between 10am and 12 noon Monday to Friday when one of our team of trained bereavement support volunteers will be able to discuss the choices of service available.
Our trained bereavement support volunteers can see people by appointment in their own home or at the Cruse office or other neutral place as agreed with the client, there may be a short wait before the first appointment.
Cruse trained volunteers also provide a service via the Let’s Talk Service 01482 247111 or book your assessment on line, providing the same choices and high quality of service. When and where the support will be given is by mutual agreement between the client and their bereavement support volunteer. This may be outside normal working hours if required. All Cruse bereavement support volunteers have supervision.
The Cruse website www.cruse.org.uk has much useful information about bereavement as well as leaflets. If children or young people are requiring support, they can be supported directly by Cruse or may find the newly created, interactive website www.hopeagain.org.uk created by young people for ‘young people living after loss’ a valuable tailor made resource.
